Abstract

Intellectual debates were raised regarding the indications of democracy and Shura, and the problem of this dialectic is limited to two streams. The first: It considers that Shura is different in form and content from democracy, whether from the perspective of the concept or method of application. The two currents try hard to exclude the other by analyzing different concepts and evidence. The first follows the principle of originality and the negation of modernity, and the second pursues the path of rationality and realism. Therefore, this research reviews the conflicting opinions of each current with an objective, critical analytical methodology to find the closest views of logic and reason beyond the passions and subjective inclinations, then it touches first on the concepts of Shura and democracy, secondly the opinion of those who cling to the past concept of Shura, and thirdly the views of the rational stream from the perspective of the critical approach of the first stream through Text re-read methodology
